Anja-Nina Bahrmann made her successful Debut at the Bavarian State Opera in Munich in 2012 with Aspasia in Mitridate, re di Ponte.  Shortly after she sang at the Cuvilléstheatre Munich Norina in Don Pasquale and amazed the audience with her brillant voice and captivating stage presence. For both roles she is awarded with the AZ- Star in Munich.

The young soprano, born in Germany, made her professional debut 2006 as Bastienne in Bastien et Bastienne at the Aalto Theater Essen.
She studied opera at the Robert-Schuman-Hochschule Düsseldorf with Jeanne Piland and graduated with distinction in 2008. She participated in masterclasses with Matthias Goerne, Christine Schäfer, Leonard Hokanson, and Christiane Oelze. She won the 1st price of the Richard Strauss competition 2005 and additionally Brigitte Fassbaender awarded her for highly outstanding artistic achievements. As a student she was as well engaged at the Deutsche Oper am Rhein Dusseldorf.

From 2006 till 2009 she was a member of the ensemble at the Landestheater Linz in Austria and performed Laura in Der Bettelstudent, Eurydice in Orphée, Zerlina in Don Giovanni, Oscar in Un ballo in maschera, Susana in The Marriage of Figaro and in the title role of La Calisto. As Zerbinetta in Ariadne auf Naxos she amazed the audience and received outstanding reviews.

From 2009 till 2022 she was one of the leading sopranos of the Volksoper Wien where she sings amongst others Rosina in The barber of Seville, Lauretta in Gianni Schicchi, Adele in The Bat, Gretel in Hansel & Gretel, Pamina in The Magig Flute and Konstanze in The Abduction from the Seraglio, Antonia in Hoffmann’s Tale, Liu in Turandot, Musetta in La Bohème, Micaëla in Carmen, Amalia in I masnadieri and Violetta in La Traviata.

Besides her tenure engagements in Linz and Vienna the young soprano is a regular guest at the Theater an der Wien, where she sang 2007 Barbarina in Le nozze di Figaro under the baton of Greame Jenkins, 2011 Lucia in Rape of Lucretia under Sian Edwards, and 2010 Flamina in Il mondo della luna under the baton of Nikolaus Harnoncourt, which has been recorded by Unitel Classics and 2011 Lucia in Rape of Lucretia under Sian Edwards.
2010 she sang in the Musikverein Wien again with Nikolaus Harnoncourt as Costanza in Il sogno di Scipione. In the same year she participated at the international broadcasted opening night of the Wiener Festwochen with the soprano part in Carmina Burana.

At the Glyndebourne Festival 2011 Anja-Nina Bahrmann appeared as the 1st nymph in Rusalka under the baton of Sir Andrew Davis. At the Muziekgebouw Amsterdam she sang War in heaven from Gavin Bryers (CD) and in the Laeizhalle Hamburg Schumann “Faust” under Jeffrey Tate. In 2013 and 2014 she performed Pamina in The Magig Flute at the Bregenz Festival under the staging from David Pountney. In 2014 she also had her debut as Zdenka in Arabella at the New National Theatre Tokyo, Japan under the baton of Bertrand de Billy. This role she also sang in Dortmund, Wiesbaden and Düsseldorf (2018 under the baton of Axel Kober). 2017 she sang Adele in Fledermaus at the Bavarian Stateopera under the baton of Kirill Petrenko.
